Guilford Woman June 2012 : Page 2EDITOR’S MUSINGS Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful men that read Guilford Woman Magazine. The magazine has officially broken all the rules this month. For the first time in six and a half years we have a man included on the cover. This is not your typical story about a father and daughter rela-tionship. This is a story about a man fighting for custody of his child and what a hard few years he had trying to get her. I think you will find the story compelling and emo-tional. Hope you all enjoy reading this as much as we have all enjoyed helping get the word out about the diffi-culties involved with a man trying to get custody of a loved child. Happy Father's Day Mr. Brent! My house has officially begun the green movement. Not without difficulties I might add. My husband was recently in the market for a new car. Now, understand, this is a man that has owned many four wheel drives, motorcycles and antique cars. He has always had the need for speed; without having to say any more. After a lot of research (we are talking months) he announces that he is buying a Prius. I went along with this and figured he would make a good decision. He did and he loves the car. The only problem that we have is that the car is very quiet. Apparently, when you get to a certain speed the car goes on battery. During the first week of the car being here, my daughter came in the house one morning and mentioned that the car was in the garage with all the lights on and running. My husband and I looked at each other in amazement like this can not be happening? We really did not get too alarmed. Finally, my husband thought he might just go down and check on it. Well, it was running and had been running. So, if you go green, be prepared for a learning curve. Have a great month and enjoy the warm weather!
